Morreu Perry Bamonte, guitarrista e teclista dos The Cure. Tinha 65 anos.

A informação foi confirmada esta sexta-feira pela banda que, numa mensagem publicada no site oficial, confirma que Perry faleceu «após uma breve doença em casa durante o Natal».

«Tranquilo, intenso, intuitivo, constante e extremamente criativo, Teddy foi uma parte vital e afetuosa da história dos The Cure», refere a banda, que Perry Bamonte passou a integrar a tempo inteiro em 1990, depois de ter «cuidado da banda» de 1984 a 1989.

Tocou guitarra, baixo de seis cordas e teclado em diversos álbuns do grupo com quem, ao longo de 14 anos, realizou «mais de 400 espetáculos».

«Regressou aos The Cure em 2022 para realizar mais 90 concertos, alguns dos melhores da história da banda», reforça o texto, assinado pelos restantes membros.
